Dan Jury

About

Co-promoter & Resident DJ for CTRL SHIFT. Dan is a Detroit techno evangelist with a burning passion for electronic music & dance culture in general.

He can often be spotted on the dance floor in room two at Fabric, and has recently started working on his own productions in Ableton.

Dan is a self-proclaimed geek, with extensive musical knowledge & 13 years experience behind the decks.

Biography

Dan Jury started DJing in 1999, and has recently started working on his own productions. Originally from South London, but now residing in Berkshire via Tunbridge Wells & Birmingham, Dan has experimented with most genres of electronic dance music over the years, before settling down with techno - the music he's most passionate about.

Dan grew up loving synth based music by artists like New Order, Depeche Mode, Kraftwerk & Giorgio Moroder, whilst being exposed to hip hop artists like Grandmaster Flash & Afrika Bambaataa by his older sister. Like many others, he discovered new types of music as a teenager and became totally immersed in the dance explosion of the 90's.

This knowledge & history is ingrained in his approach to music, always evolving, but never forgetting his roots.

Now Dan is most often associated with Detroit Techno, the music he dearly loves because of it’s beautiful warms pads, dramatic string sequences & industrial aesthetic. Not limited to one sound though, Dan is a versatile performer, and also has an appreciation for deep house & UK Bass, and can bring an interesting dynamic to any night, with the ability to play sets from 118 – 130 BPM.

Andrew Sansom

About

Andrew Sansom is an avid music collector, DJ and co-promoter of the new London club night CTRL SHIFT.

Andrew has been DJing for 17 years, and is known for his darker, twisted interpretation of house and techno.

A regular face on the London clubbing scene for many years, and a couple of stints working for record stores in the capital & his native Kent, shows a passion & commitment to the music, which is unrivalled by many of his peers.

Biography

Andrew Sansom was influenced by music from an early age by his parents, who both came from a musical background and enjoyed playing piano. This passion for music was infectious, and Andrew started DJing in 1995 with a very modest set up and plenty of enthusiam.

Originally influenced by 80’s synth pop and electronica, he naturally got swept away by the wave of dance music that followed in the early 90’s. It wasn’t long before Andrew wanted to become involved in the scene himself, and he became immersed in the vibrant rave scene, as well as landing a job working in a specialist record store in Kent, where he was paid in vinyl, which fuelled his growing passion for the music. At 18, he moved to Mad Records where he worked for Anthony Sergeant (formerly of Glimpse & Disappear Here) who has since set up the revolutionary guest list technology QIQ.

Over the years Andrew has worked tirelessly to craft a sound of his own from his musical influences, past and present. Keen on new technology, he is always looking for new ways to evoke emotion from the people that come to see him play.

Andrew's DJ sets never fail to excite and entertain, traits associated with his musical heroes.
